Visconti Homo Sapiens Crystal Dream Fountain Pen

The Crystal Dream takes the standard Homo Sapiens formula and opens it up — literally. A large section of the lava body has been cut away and replaced with a clear crystal acrylic tube, turning the pen into a partial demonstrator. It's a smart modification: you keep the tactile character of the lava material on the sections where your hand actually rests, while the window in the barrel gives you a genuine view of the ink and filling mechanism inside. 

That filling mechanism is worth discussing on its own. Where the standard Homo Sapiens uses Visconti's single-reservoir power filler, the Crystal Dream is upgraded to the double-reservoir system — a vacuum filler built entirely from titanium, with capacity equivalent to roughly 10 standard cartridges. The practical benefit of the second reservoir is meaningful: the dual-chamber design prevents ink from leaking during air travel, which makes this a legitimate travel pen despite its size. There's also a smaller crystal acrylic ring at the grip section — replacing the metal ring of the standard model — which offers a view into the second, smaller reservoir so you can monitor both chambers independently. 

Everything else carries over from the original: the body is the same proprietary blend of over 50% basaltic lava from Mount Etna, warm and slightly textured in hand, with solid bronze trim throughout. The bronze elements are raw and untreated — keep them polished with a cloth, or let them develop a patina over time. The cap uses the Hook Safe Lock, and the spring-loaded arc clip is modeled after the arches of the Ponte Vecchio in Florence. The nib is an 18k gold in rose gold, sized EF through Stub.
One thing worth noting: the lava body can show small natural markings and variations — this is characteristic of the material, not a quality issue. No two pens look quite identical.
